Workshops
We run creative workshops to introduce the Circular Economy and its benefits to your organisation. The workshops are suitable for businesses, community groups, third sector organisations, museums & galleries. If you are looking for our schools workshops, please go to the Making Circles page.
Workshops are tailored to suit your organisation and include:
- Introduction to the Circular Economy and why it matters;
- Hands-on design and making activity demonstrating how Circular Design can help us be more sustainable – choose from making bags, reusable sandwich wraps or repair techniques;
- Beautiful and unusual tools and materials that demonstrate the huge amount of waste in our current system.
- If you have particular “waste” materials such as signage or event merchandise you would like to use, we can incorporate these into the workshop.
We also develop bespoke workshops ranging from food waste to textiles. To find out more, please get in touch
“Fife Contemporary truly value the Circular Economy workshops with Ostrero, which help save much of our exhibition materials from landfill, while sparking wider discussions with participants on diverting waste through practical and creative approaches. The workshops are always incredibly fun while creating an atmosphere of skills-sharing and learning together.” James Anderson, Fife Contemporary

Research
We carry out research and feasibility studies that help grow the Circular Economy in Scotland, with a focus on identifying barriers and designing practical solutions to overcome these.
We’ve worked on a range of Circular Economy research projects, from devising a mutual credit system for organisations in the creative industries to a feasibility study for a shared storage and equipment system.
If you are looking for a research partner specialising in the Circular Economy, please get in touch
“I have worked with Mary Michel and Ostrero on the Community Cred project since 2021. Mary’s combination of design thinking, policy awareness, and hands-on engagement with local enterprises brought real depth to our understanding of the barriers and opportunities for embedding circularity within organisations. Ostrero’s collaborative and creative approach made them a key partner in co-developing research that not only studies the Circular Economy but actively helps to build it.” Dr Juli Huang, The University of Edinburgh

Circular Solutions
We work with organisations to identify how embedding circular solutions can help keep materials in circulation, reduce waste, meet climate targets and build networks.
We’ve worked on a range of circular solutions, from trialling a reusable cup scheme to helping event organisers work towards Zero Waste through rethinking the design and implementation of their event.
We have experience both of planning these solutions and implementing them on the ground. We understand there are barriers to making change happen and can help you overcome these to become more circular, more sustainable and bring your employees and customers along on the journey.
If you want your organisation to become more circular but don’t know how, or if you have an idea for a circular solution that you would like to discuss, please get in touch
“Ostrero’s services have helped Cisco Live to keep materials at their highest value and move towards designing waste out of the event. A clear understanding of where and why waste was generated has led to a 26% reduction in general waste in just one year. The team’s thoughtful approach has seen the mindsets and behaviours in our supply chain change, which has resulted in a much more circular event.” Cisco Live
