Yoyo Cups

Single use cups have got to go! More than 200 million of them are used in Scotland every year and it is estimated that only 1 in every 400 ever gets recycled or composted. The rest end up in landfill or as litter, polluting our streets, rivers and oceans.

Yoyo Cups is a circular leasing service that lends out coffee cups in return for a deposit. It is designed to be cost saving for cafés and at the same time reduce waste, pollution and carbon emissions.

Ostrero designed the Yoyo Cups model and implemented pilot projects across Scotland, including independent cafes in Dumfries & Galloway, Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow School of Art.
