Ostrero works to grow the Circular Economy in Scotland through mindset change and education. We raise awareness of what the Circular Economy is and how it is vitally important to Scotland’s economic and environmental wellbeing. Ostrero is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was created in 2016 by Mary Michel and Marian Brown, who are both optimistic about the tangible and positive changes that the Circular Economy can create.

MARY MICHEL, Co-Founder and Director
Mary studied the philosophy of sustainable thinking and she is particularly interested in how we can transform mindsets to move towards a Circular Economy. In her previous role as Director of the Incorporation of Goldsmiths Mary was responsible for the organisation’s charitable and educational initiatives, including creating the Ethical Making Programme. Mary is a Trustee of Circular Communities Scotland and a former Trustee of the Wellbeing Economy Alliance Scotland and of Craft Scotland.

MARIAN BROWN, Co-Founder
Marian is an experienced lawyer, specialising in criminal justice but with a keen interest in advocacy and the environment. She is interested in how system-level change can make it easy for all of us to do the right things for people and our planet.
